Kevin Stitt said in a statement announcing the appointment of Nellie Tayloe Sanders to his Cabinet on Wednesday.
As a voting member of the Oklahoma Virtual Charter School Board, Sanders voted to hire the Alliance Defending Freedoma right-wing legal groupto represent the board in matters relating to the St.
Seville Catholic Virtual Charter School.
The nonprofit serves neurodivergent individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, KOCO reports.
Sanders has worked for the Center of Family Love since 2013.
"Nellie has championed innovative paths in education, particularly for those with dyslexic thinking and unique learning styles," Stitt said in the statement.
