The Foundation For Delaware County Announces More Than $2.1 Million for Local Nonprofits

The Foundation for Delaware County in Delaware County, Pa., has given more than $1.2 million to 57 nonprofits over the last three years.

The grants will be used to "address some of Delaware County's most critical issues, including mental health challenges, education, food security, and support for seniors," foundation president Frances Sheehan says in a press release.

The largest grantmaking organization in Delaware County, the foundation has given more than $2.1 million to local nonprofits over the last three years, according to its website.

Among the recipients of this year's grants: children's health and well-being: $770,590 community mental health services: $70,970 economic and community development: $112,050 food security: $172,860 hospice and home care: $102,800 services for cancer survivors: $26,600 Senior Community Services: $50,000 home-delivered meals: $50,000 Share Food Program: $83,000 Murphy's Giving Market: $83,000 Chester Community Coalition to support cultivating community, promoting healing and peace for those impacted by violence and trauma: $18,000 Riverfront Alliance of Delaware County: $21,000
