If you're a social entrepreneur in Canada, you may be in luck: The government of British Columbia is offering to pay for up to six months of coaching and support for social enterprise and impact leaders, the CBC reports.
The Indigenous Leadership Development Program, or ILDP, is a collaboration between the government, a number of community organizations, and a company called Purppl.
It's designed to help social entrepreneurs grow their businesses and make a positive difference in their communities.
So far, the program has helped more than 45 social enterprise and impact leaders in British Columbia.
"We're seeing long term outcomes like revenue diversification, growth in social enterprise revenue, and stable, confident leadership in participating organizations," says the executive director of the Community Foundation North Okanagan.
IndigiNews publisher Eden Fineday says the program has been "truly transformative" for her.
"When I began the journey with Purppl, we had few operational systems in place and were really small startup nonprofit with impact we wanted to create, but wasn't sure how we'd get there," she says.
"We're seeing long term outcomes like revenue diversification, growth in social enterprise revenue, and stable, confident leadership in participating organizations," adds the executive director of People Employment Services
