When a tornado struck Cass County, Iowa, on June 28, Melanie Petty sent a video to the Atlantic Daily News that's since gone viral.
The video shows a twister touching down just seven miles west of the small town of Atlantic, per the Des Moines Register.
The National Weather Service has since confirmed that the tornado was a straight-on one with winds between 60mph and 90mph.
Petty sent the video to the Daily News with a request: "Please send this to the National Weather Service so they can figure out if it was a tornado and if it was a straight-on or a tornado with wind between 60mph and 90mph.
And if it was a tornado with wind between 60mph and 90mph, do you have pictures of the tornado?" The Daily News has the video.
